United Action for Children has Setup a Bakery to train vulnerable youths in Buea Municipality and eventually extend to other similar communities since majority of the population is living under the same conditions.
United Action for Children, together with Bakery Initiatives Group has begun a massive training and re-training of bakers in Cameroon to teach them how to run bakeries profitably. This requires pure bakery skills, but also management skills.
In August 2025, the first even took place in Buea and 30 young bakers completed the training. The training program aims to training more than 250 bakers over a period of two years. It will run in batches.
Together with Bakery Initiatives Nigeria, a program of training trainers has started to make the Cameroonian colleagues equally skilled.
According to Mr. Orock Eyong, the Country Ambassador of Bakery Initiatives Cameroon, the training is in line with the company’s philosophy that identifies well-trained and grounded people as one of the essential pillars for the success of any bakery business.
It is our hope that after passing through this training, you all will become change agents in ensuring that the bakery businesses you get involved in become successful
Mr. Orock told the participants at the brief opening ceremony before the commencement of the first phase of the training.
